The Next of Kin is defined by the following hierarchy:
- Spouse- a husband or wife who are legally married, separated but not divorced
- Children of the deceased over 18 years of age
- Parents
- Siblings
What are your next steps?
- As soon as possible, identify a funeral home
- Contact the Funeral Home and let them know your loved one is located at the Cumberland County Coroner's Office
- The Funeral Home will contact our office to make arrangements to have your loved one taken into their care
