Restitution Fund

There are circumstances where age or other barriers prevent a juvenile to be able to financially pay back for damage done to a victim.  Because of these situations, the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation department established a restitution fund.  Juveniles can earn money from the restitution fund through the completion of community service hours with the juvenile probation department.  This fund was generated and is replenished, in part, through a grant with PennDOT which allocates money annually to Cumberland County Juvenile Probation in return for keeping exit ramps on Route 81 and Routes 11/15 cleaned of garbage and waste.  Additionally, juveniles under supervision also are required to pay a Restitution Fund Fee which helps maintain the restitution fund.
