Search and Rescue (SAR) - Team 400

The Search Management Group/Search and Rescue Team (SAR) provides guidance, policy and procedures employed in SAR operations in the event of a person or persons being lost or stranded.  The Department of Public Safety coordinates the SAR team's effort and activates this resource if the SAR management group determines a need.
SAR is a non-profit Emergency Response Team that is on call 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The team does urban type searches for lost children, individuals who are developmentally challenged and for elderly patients who may have Alzheimer's or dementia. We are sometimes asked to assist in locating overdue hunters or hikers.  Every call and situation is different.
Membership consists of individuals from area Fire, Police and Ambulance departments as well as individuals from the community who share an interest in providing a helping hand to those in need.
