Volunteer or Host an Event

Everyone wants to live and work in a clean community, so it's up to everyone to do their part to help make it possible! Keep PA Beautiful hosts "Pick Up PA" every spring and fall, from March 1 to May 31 and then again from September 1 to November 30. During these times, volunteer groups are eligible for free work gloves, safety vests, and trash bags through PennDOT. Program participants in Pennsylvania collected almost 4 million pounds of trash at over 4,300 events in 2021!

  • Pick up PA. This program runs all year long, though events held during the Great American Clean-Up (March 1-May31) and the International Coastal Cleanup (Sept. 1- Nov. 30) are eligible for free cleanup supplies (bags, gloves & vests) from PennDOT, PA DEP, and Keep America Beautiful. Note: groups participating in Adopt A Highway can continue to utilize PennDOT for litter removal throughout the year. Watch video to learn more about Pick Up PA from the Pennsylvania DEP.
