The Cumberland County Treatment Court is one of 26 accredited addiction treatment courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This is a program of "last resort," intended to salvage good lives from the grip of addiction rather than send them needlessly to state prison. Participants are intensely supervised. Through the use of best practices, each participants is given the opportunity to change their lives and have their charges expunged.
Graduates of Treatment Court are the statistically least likely people to commit a new crime. Many clients of the Public Defender's Office who graduate Treatment Court tell us that the program saved their lives and their families.
