Services of Register of Wills Our office provides the forms needed when probating an estate. You can obtain these forms at Register of Wills forms.

The Register of Wills acts as an agent for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue to receive and process inheritance tax payments and Inheritance Tax Returns. You can obtain Inheritance Tax schedules and their instruction booklet in our office or by visiting Inheritance Tax forms on the Department of Revenue website. Tax payments can be presented in person or mailed to Register of Wills, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 102, Carlisle, PA 17013

We do not issue Birth and Death Certificates but if you need a certified copy from Department of Health, Vital Records, you can pick up their form in our office to apply by mail or the form can be obtained online at Pa Department of Health, Vital Records.

We issue exemplified copies of wills, certified copies of wills, certified copies of inheritance tax payments, official receipts for payments of inheritance tax payments, additional short certificates after probate, as well as many other documents. You can obtain these documents by visiting our office or mailing your request in writing, along with the required fee, to Register of Wills, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 102, Carlisle, PA 17013

The Register of Wills office will also research probate records which date back to 1750. You can request research by returning the Research Request form (pdf) with payment to Register of Wills, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 102, Carlisle, PA 17013.
