The Open Records Office was developed in 2008 to address Act 3 of 2008 (65 P.S.§ 67.101). The Act governs the rights of the public to inspect and obtain copies of public records. The Open Records Office assures smooth and timely access to requested records.

Placing a Request for Public Records
An individual may make a verbal or written request for access to a record. A written request includes those sent via email. The office or department to which the request is made shall immediately forward the request to the County Open Records Officer.

On February 14, 2008, Act 3 of 2008 (65 P.S.§ 67.101) was passed into law amending the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (Act). As stated above, the Act governs the rights of the public to inspect and obtain copies of public records. An individual may make a verbal, written or anonymous verbal or write request for access to a record.
