Public Safety Information Team

Public Information Officers come from varied backgrounds in public safety or public affairs.  This team of information officers is available, 24-hours a day through the County communications center, to any County public safety agency or agency incurring an ongoing incident.    

The PIO team has a strong working relationship with the local media outlets and can lend assistance with all aspects of media relations.  PIO team members will work with agencies to help keep the public informed via the media.  Team members are trained to write press releases, coordinate press conferences and media related events, respond to media inquires and handle all communication related activities.  The PIO team has experience responding to fires, floods, power outages, automobile accidents, HAZ-MAT  incidents, weather-related incidents and much more.
